For patients

Everything you need to know about our care services.

A peaceful, accessible environment with space for therapy and socialising.

What is life like at ZBI?

Safety and comfort are paramount in our barrier-free, comfortably furnished apartments. Modern technology such as vital monitoring, call systems and oxygen supply support care, while therapy and communal areas – including the Snoezelen room – offer a structured, calming environment for patients who are unconscious to stimulate their senses.

Care is provided around the clock by fully qualified nursing staff and a multi-professional team. Relatives are actively involved; in addition, depending on the location, there are services such as therapeutic baths, music therapy and aromatherapy. The aim is to ensure a safe everyday life with as much independence as possible.

Do we understand each other?

Our multicultural care services

Our services are aimed at people from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In addition to German, English and Spanish, we can organise professional interpreting services if required. We take individual dietary requirements and religious customs into account and respectfully coordinate daily routines, visiting hours and rituals.

Our languages

German, English, Spanish

Easy language

On request, we explain diagnoses, treatment plans and procedures in simple language – clearly, comprehensibly and step by step. This allows patients and their relatives to maintain an overview and participate effectively in decision-making.

Cultural needs

Diet, religious customs

Who helps with organisation and costs?

Administration of a care place

Hospital admission / Transport

We coordinate the transfer directly with the hospital or rehabilitation facility: medical records, transport (including necessary medical equipment) and preparation of the room at the ZBI. This ensures a structured and safe transition from acute hospital care to non-clinical intensive care.

Social services

We provide support with applications, aids and advice.

Forms of therapy

We offer a comprehensive range of physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy services, as well as wound management and various music and aromatherapy treatments.

Further information

We provide you with transparent information about responsibilities, deadlines and contact persons – from cost clarification and medical aids to therapy options. If required, we will provide you with a written overview of the next steps.

Specialising in non-clinical intensive care – including weaning from ventilation and Phase F care

Is the ZBI Group right for your care needs?

Long-term neurological rehabilitation (phase F/persistent vegetative state)

At the ZBI, we care for people in a persistent vegetative state or with minimal consciousness following acquired brain damage. Care, therapy and family support are closely interlinked; the aim is stabilisation, promoting perception and the best possible participation in everyday life.

PneumoCare with weaning from ventilation

For patients on long-term ventilation, we plan individually tailored steps for weaning from ventilation. Respiratory therapists, nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists work together on an interdisciplinary basis with the aim of improving breathing and reducing dependence on the ventilator wherever possible.

Palliative care expertise

When healing is no longer the primary focus, we ensure forward-looking, symptom-based treatment. The focus is on alleviating distressing symptoms, dignity and the wishes of those affected and their relatives.
