Centre for Ventilation and Intensive Care
At the ZBI in Berlin and Hamburg, we provide intensive care for people outside of hospitals – safely, in a structured and interdisciplinary manner. Our focus areas: respiratory care with the aim of weaning patients off ventilation, long-term neurological rehabilitation (phase F/persistent vegetative state), specialised wound management and palliative care. Family members are actively involved; processes are transparent. For relatives and referring physicians, we clarify admission requirements, prescriptions/cost coverage and organise the transfer from the hospital – including transport and aids. Care takes place in a barrier-free, fully equipped environment; designated contact persons ensure reliable communication.

For caregivers with heart
At ZBI, you will work outside of a clinical setting in fixed teams with reliable duty rosters – never alone on duty. Training and continuing education take place during working hours (with full cost coverage); service, cleaning, and support teams assist you in your daily work so that you have time for genuine care.
You will care for a fixed group of clients in our areas of focus: weaning from ventilation, long-term neurological rehabilitation (phase F/persistent vegetative state), specialized wound management, and palliative care—interdisciplinary together with respiratory therapy as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapy, in Berlin-Lichtenberg and Hamburg-Eilbek.
