The location of ZBI Hamburg was chosen deliberately: our centre is located in the immediate vicinity of the Schön Clinic in the heart of Hamburg-Eilbek at Grete-Zabe-Weg 2. This enables care close to home and, for the majority of clients, accommodation close to their relatives and friends.
The outstanding feature of the concept behind the Centre for Respiratory and Intensive Care is its specialisation in people requiring the most intensive care, with two main areas of focus:
- Specialist care for people requiring non-clinical respiratory support
- Specialist care for people with severe neurological damage in long-term rehabilitation phase F

In 2015, ZBI Hamburg-Eilbek began operating within the Hamburg healthcare network and has since been providing specialised care services as part of outpatient intensive care in assisted living facilities.
Cooperation with acute care clinics, general practitioners and specialists is of great importance. In order to provide comprehensive care in the field of therapy, the facility has its own therapy practice that can provide clients with occupational therapy, speech therapy and physiotherapy.

These are our contact persons
Our case management team coordinates the transfer from acute care for referring physicians, coordinates prescriptions and cost coverage issues, and organises transport and medical aids as needed. Relatives are assigned dedicated contact persons and receive transparent information about admission, therapy and visits. On site, nursing, respiratory therapy and in-house therapy practices work closely together to ensure a smooth transition and continuous care.
